According to a study by UNICEF an estimated 1 billion children live in poverty and a staggering 22, 000 kids die every day! We have seen numerous cases where poverty has driven these children to illegal activities and in addition to this we have witnessed how people with wromg intentions exploit these innocent kids by making them beg on streets, peddle drugs or even worse make them suicide bombers. If these kids do not get attention and help then these kids do not have much hope in their lives. It is a common misconception on the part of people that giving these kids some money will eradicate poverty. This is partly true as that money might feed the kid of a month or two and then it is back to square one. So we need to be very thoughtful and be quick in finding ways to help poor kids. Now is the time for action lest the number of kids living in poverty will go on multiplying. Here are some of the ways help poor kids.
- The kids living in poverty need to be given access to education. We can set up education centers in each and every poor neighborhood. This will be tough initially as it will need a dedicated group of people who can make sure that each and every kid attends the education center.
- There is no dearth to people who are willing to step in and contribute to the well-being of the poor kids and such individuals need to be identified and given the job of imparting education to these poor kids. The Government can step in and give these individuals some monetary help or some kind of recognition to keep them motivated
- Another most important thing that these kids lack is the access to clean and pure drinking water and food. We can raise money and with that money we can get clean water and food and then distribute the same in the education centers. This will help in attracting more children to the schools.
- Sports play a very crucial role in the development of an individual. The kids can be introduced to various sports and made sure they get all the required facilities. They foster a sense of unity among these kids.
- Providing the kids with shelter is another way in which poor kids can be helped.
- Health hazards like dengue, chikungunya, malaria etc. are endangering the lives of many especially to small kids whose immune system wouldn’t be as strong. So it is quintessential on our part that the kids are made to undergo tests regularly and also making sure that the children have access to medicines and healthcare.
